    Abarbanel Winery

Descending from Don Yitzchak (Isaac) Abarbanel, the last and greatest leader of Spanish Jewry prior to the expulsion of the Jews in 1492, and one of the giants in Torah commentary, the Abarbanel family maintains the highest standards of both winemaking and kosher. By bringing kosher Alsatian wines to America for three decades, Howard Abarbanel has helped transform the kosher wine playing field.

    Abarbanel Wines

    Abarbanel Chardonnay

An aromatic and fruit filled delight, Abarbanel Chardonnay is marked by rich notes of clover and honey that make this unoaked wine an enjoyable addition to any fine dining experience. This wine contains a citrus body suitable for any palate. With it's golden straw color, it is an enjoyable, straightforward Chardonnay sourced from the Les Chemins de Favarelle single vineyard in the Aude River Valley of the Languedoc.

    Abarbanel Cabernet Sauvignon

On the nose, there are notes of blackberry, black cherry, herb and coffee. On the palate, this light-to-medium bodied Cabernet Sauvignon has a crisp, clean and easy finish. This wine is sourced from the Les Dolmens Rouges, a single vineyard near Ouveillan in the Aude River Valley (Languedoc).  This well-priced Cabernet pairs well with beef, veal, lamb, duck, poultry and pasta and offers solid QPR value.

    Abarbanel Lemminade Gewurtztraminer

Produced in the Alsace region of France which borders the Rhine River, this wine displays lively aromas of citrus, wild flowers and spices. Enchanting, slightly sweet with balanced acidity, it's sugar and spice and everything nice. Medium to full-bodied, this is a white wine that can stand-up to steaks. The grapevines for this wine are over 40 years old and are grown along the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. The grapes are handled with loving care and hand harvested. Serve slightly chilled. Pair with anything Asian – Chinese, Hunan, Szechuan; Japanese including sushi and hibachi steaks and chicken; Thai, Korean and American Cajun cuisine. Also works with Mexican and Indian. Great with any flavorful food.

    Abarbanel Lemminade Old Vines Riesling

Sourced from Old Vines grown at the foot of the Vosges Mountains in France, which has long been considered one of the world's best regions of Riesling. This Old Vine Riesling is packed with a bouquet of floral notes that intermingle with fresh herbal and citrus notes that are reminiscent of a spring orchard. It has a light bodied profile that is the perfect blend of sweet and earthy tones, making this a superbly balanced and popular wine.

    Abarbanel Beaujolais Villages

Produced in the heart of the Beaujolais region, this Chateau grown and bottled Beaujolais Villages features the best of the Gamay grape. Among the characteristics that distinguish Abarbanel Beaujolais Villages are all of the grapes coming from the proprietary, estate vineyards at Chateau de Pougelon, with grapes from vines over 100 years old. The Chateau has been making wine since the early 17th Century.  The wine has great berry flavor while also showing a touch of sweet spiciness. It is tangy, fruity, and delicious and medium to full bodied. It will remind you of a Rhone Grenache or Syrah because of the deep, ripe fruit. Try it with any kind of barbeque -- chicken, ribs, steaks. Also good with pizza and pasta with meat sauces, stews and cholent.

    Abarbanel Special Reserve Rouge

This Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Merlot (35%) is made from grapes grown and harvested at the single Les Terres Noires vineyard in the Aude River Valley in the South of France. Aged in French oak for four months, this wine is unfiltered and non-mevushal. The wine has cherry notes with touches of coffee, tobacco and light tannins for an easy finish. This is a satisfying, table-friendly French red that will be a real crowd pleaser.
