Binyamina "Yogev" Cabernet/Shiraz is a progressive style of wine made accessible and delicious by classically-trained Israeli winemakers. Twenty years ago, conventional wisdom said you couldn't blend Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. But thanks to wines of this quality, this beautiful alchemy is available to us at an everyday price. The Cabernet contributes dark, rich flavors and firm structure, while the Shiraz kicks in gobs of massive, opulent fruit and a silky texture. A barbecue classic, Binyamina "Yogev" Cabernet/Shiraz is also delicious alongside veal osso buco, roast beef, and fresh pasta marinara.

I find myself at odds with the other reviewer here and Rogov. Perhaps I had a bad bottle? I found this wine to be alcoholic with little fruit to counteract the astringent tannins. Not enjoyable in the least for me, I'm afraid.

This was a nice wine that got better after breathinga little. We served it at a fundraiser along with several other wines. This was a favorite among several attendees. I am a big fan of Shiraz; did not taste as much berry as I would have liked, probably due to the mix with cabernet. Would probably order again.

Tawny garnet colored, fruity aroma, smooth, dry, soft tannins, mellow yet a bit spicy. Quite pleasant.

With a rich and velvety veneer, this wine was surprisingly well balance and was very enjoyable. With hints of currant and strong purple fruit. This bold vintage from Binyamina’s new label proves itself deserving of Dan Rogov’s high rating.
