General Information
The grapes for this oak barrel aged (18 months) Cabernet matured at a leisurely pace while basking in the warm sun of the Judean Mountains and being gently caressed by the cool maritime breezes from Israel's Mediterranean Coastal Plain. This ideal climate allows the fruit to reach its full potential. Palate: Ripe raspberries with hints of black pepper and aromatic spices. Best served with grilled meats and colorful ethnic cuisines. Best bet - open and decant at least a half hour prior to drinking and serve at room temperature.

Winemaker's Note
100 percent cabernet sauvignon carefully aged 18-plus months in the finest French Oak Barrels and then further aged for another 18 months in bottles. This constitutes for half of the Jerusalem Heights reserve blend.
Isaac’s Ram offers full ripe raspberry flavors with hints of black pepper with a final note of aromatic spices. All from the Judean Hills Appellation -- the new locus of Israel’s luxury vineyards. Non-Mevushal. Should be decanted at least 30 minutes prior to consumption.

“Easy to drink, if somewhat herbal and light in body. Cedar and vanilla notes accent cherry-rhubarb aromas and flavors, picking up additional complexity in the form of cinnamon and mint. Tart and juicy on the finish.”

Ripe berries and spice aromas entice, and the palate continues to please with more raspberry and black pepper. The wine could use more dimension but the lively flavors and substantial finish add weight. Imported by Abarbanel Wine Company. –S.K.

Better than the 2001 vintage I reviewed earlier, 2004 has an excellent body with a peppery, spicy taste to match.

I am not a vino - I received a bottle for a gift - but I really enjoyed it. Excellent with meat, drinking slowly. After drinking this fine wine, my throat is feeling like filled with fresh sweet aroma for long time.

Clearly a well-made bottle, but the results are nevertheless disappointing. The wine felt somewhat short in the mid-palate, with tannins that were somewhat out of balance (tasted after 30 minutes in a decanter). At this price point, there are much better choices (like Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon, Recananti Special Reserve, and Galil Yiron).

Plumy veneer, hints of raspberry and plum with a spicy overtone. I think this wine is a bit overrated. For the money you could pick up better wine with similar features (ie. Castel 2003 or Yatir ). This vintage did not finish as well as similar vintages from the area (Judean Hills). It is certainly a quality wine but did not meet up to the hype surrounding this cab.

This is a full flavored wine, although not as full as other cabernets. However, without any off aftertaste, this is still a very, very enjoyable wine.
