General Information
Producing a fine Pinot Noir requires an exact balance of warm days and cool nights. Barkan found this balance in their vineyard at Mitzpah Ramon in the high desert. The wine is marked by soft, yet palpable tannin, with a fresh almost strawberry aroma with hints of black cherries and mint. Barkan Pinot Noir's medium body and crisp finish goes well with grilled salmon or veal, and is best served at a cool room temperature.

I am not sure this is really a Barkan wine. Even the cork has absolutely no identifying markings on it. It was watery and barely had any taste, much less body and tannins. I wouldn't even use this wine for cooking. I have never had such a bad bottle of wine from Barkan.

While the Barkan Classic series has its ups and downs, there are sometimes little gems secreted away that are worth trying under certain circumstances. This Pinot is one of them and a good choice in restaurants if you are looking for a decent mevushal wine that will match with most foods. Nowhere close to being a true Pinot Noir (a problem for much more expensive/quality kosher attempts at Pinot as well), this is a fun and food-friendly wine with a bit of depth, a somewhat subdued nose with good red fruit on the palate matched by a solid structure and a hint of wood.

I had this at a sheva brochos; can't remember the vintage year. Medium- to full-bodied, decent aroma, nice taste, not spectacular. Enjoyable but nothing to rave about.

Nondescript at first, the wine shorty opens up to reveal some typical pinot noir characteristics. This is the only pinot in this price range, and you get what you pay for. The wine is fine but there are much better options.

Barkan Pinot Noir is a medium bodied dry wine with an extremely pleasent fruity flavor. I strongly recommend this fine wine .....
