General Information
Gamla Chardonnay was produced entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil and high altitude are ideal conditions for growing classic wine grape varieties. Aging in French oak barrels adds a pleasing toastiness to the lemony character typical of Chardonnay. To preserve the quality of the wine, this bottle should be stored on its side in a cool, dark place. Best served at about 55 degrees F.
Kosher For Passover

Winemaker's Note

Lively and fresh, with apple and citrus flavors and smooth finish. Best Served With: Light or full flavored fish, veal and chicken.

Gourmet Magazine-Highly Recommended
"Gamla’s 2002 Chardonnay, from Galilee, is milder but has an intriguing touch of citrus that goes particularly well with this dish."

Wait through the initial slight "off-ness" and give it a few minutes. This sunny, yellow-golden chardonnay greets one with a lovely fruity/floral bouquet reminiscence of wildflowers and verdant meadows, sunny days, picnics under shady trees. This success is achieved by Golan Height, maker of some of the best wine in Eretz. The cooler, rainier winter of 2004 is reflected in the density and concentration of flavor in this wine. Drink now though....it is fully mature.

This Chardonnay is flabby, with very sparse fruit, and insufficient structure and acidity. I do not recommend it.

Nice citrus and green apple notes. Crisp and not too heavy or oaky like some Chards are. A good value at under $13.

Another winning Chard from this winery. Very crisp apple and citrus flavors, but has not yet developed the nutty and tropical flavors of the 2004. I would take the 2004 over the 2005 before the new vintage makes it in.

Nice aromas of baked apples and lemon curn. Very smooth and slightly oaky on the finish. This wine is fully mature and is a great value.
