General Information
Barkan's Galil vineyards in northern Israel produce rich, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon grapes during the growing season. The wine displays a deep ruby red color, a bouquet redolent of spicy berry aromas intermingled with oak, and a full round body that pairs well with grilled meats and sauces.
Kosher For Passover

Winemaker's Note
Layers of oak, dark berry, and spice are supported by soft tannins and focused acidity.
Best Served With: Medium flavored grilled or sauced chicken.

Vintage 2007
After reviewing three earlier vintages, I am ready to comment on 2007. Not only does this cabernet age well, as indicated with my review of the 2000 vintage, but this recent vintage is ready to drink and enjoy now. With a great body and a nice spicy finish, I rate the 2007 along side the 2000.

Its a phenomenal bottle of wine specially for this price, and very well balanced. Good to drink by a meeting and enjoy together with friends as well, and after a good piece of meat!!!

Very simple wine, nothing to brag about. Some nice berries, but besides for that it was pretty plain.

It may be just me but I find this level of Barkan's watery. While it was a decent bottle, it had a slight musty nose and a very bitter, dry finish. The watery body didn't match the dryness I was getting. A confused bottle (or taster).

Solid representative – classic aroma, looks, body, taste. Longer lasting finish than most. I liked it better than the 2003.

A decent "restaurant" wine for the price, not much by way of nose or finish, but perfectly serviceable. Mevushal too.

I have reviewed the 2000 and 2003 vintages. Now its time to taste 2004.
It is a little less than full bodied, but still has a nice fruity taste. Dry, but not too dry, it is still an enjoyable wine.

Deep color, appealing aroma, typical cab. taste, lingering aftertaste. This is a well-made cab. and a fine value in its price range.

Vintage 2000
I previously wrote a review of the 2003 vintage. I recently found a bottle of the 2000, and I found it to be a little better than the 2003. Both years are very good, but the 2000 has a bit more body.

Maybe not as full bodied as some cabernets, but it is still very drinkable and enjoyable. It leaves a nice fruity taste in the mouth.
