General Information
Primo-V Moscato is an aromatic, effervescent sweet Italian moscato made by the Santero winery, located just outside the northern Italian town of Asti. The Primo-V is made from fresh pressed Moscato grapes that are cold fermented to preserve the grape's delicate aromatics. It's balanced sweetness, velvety texture, and fine and persistent bubbles make it a refreshing and delicious white wine perfect for any occasion.

I first bought this wine on a whim, before it "took off" in the store. We LOVE this wine and are buying our second case. If this were any bubblier, it would be a fabulous champagne. It is not as sweet as the Bartenura "blue bottle," yet satisfies our children along with those of us who prefer a dryer wine.

I usually drink Bartenura Moscato, but thought I would test this wine out especially because of the price. It turned out to be much better then I thought. I liked the sweet citrus fruit flavors, although it is not as sweet as the Bartenura, so I can understand why some people wouldn't like it. Overall it is well worth the value.

This is the weakest Moscato that I have tasted. It is dry and bland with a slight bitter aftertaste. It has little fruit tastes, fragrance, and lightness that is evident in a good Moscato.

I buy Moscatos in general for use at synagogue functions instead of the square bottle Manishevitz which is standard fare at most shuls' Friday eve or Shabbat AM kiddush. They are still very sweet, so they satisfy the old timers, and low alcohol, so I can encourage parents to let their kids drink it instead of that abysmal bottled Kedem grape juice. This particular "Primo-V" Moscato is nice, better than others I have tried in the same price range quite a bargain especially at the sale price. Nothing too subtle here, but one does not look for such qualities in this kind of product.
