General Information
This Smith Haut Lafitte has a complex bouquet, featuring hints of citrus and dried fruit. It is rich and dense with good backbone on the palate, while retaining freshness and good balance thanks to its acidity. It is very long and clean with a highly persistent and aromatic aftertaste, featuring white peaches and brioche.
Its grapes come from a great "terroir" and the wine is matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. This opulent wine will hold for several years.

A good example of a Bordeaux Grand Cru, although this was not a great year for Bordeaux. Different vintages from the same Chateau should be much better.

This is one of the few where the taste clearly explains the price ! Rich, fullbodied, smooth, yet easy to drink with any beef dish, or substantial meal. This is one that can make a great cholent even greater, and is sure to do wonders when accompanying a steak.
