General Information
Weinstock Cellar Select Zinfandel exhibits all of the distinctive characteristics of the variety: aroma notes of berry and straw balancing a bouquet of oak, and a full mouth-feel rich with flavor and soft tannins. Best served at room temperature, the wine pairs well with pizza, pasta with pesto, grilled meats or hard yellow cheese. If stored at a temperature between 55 and 60 degrees F, this will cellar very well.

Excellent Zin! Fruity nose, easy on pallet with berry flavors & soft tannins. Not as spicy as most Zins but just enough. Full bodied but not overpowering. When served at Shabbat dinner, not a drop left in the bottle or in the glasses with guests begging for more! Drink now as doesn't have enough tannins to last much longer.

A very nice, big Zin! Peppery, balanced with fruit and a pleasant smokiness. Enjoy this one.

Definitely the tamer side of Zin. Not too sweet or grapey, very reserved and oaky. Drink now.

This was really good, but not perfect. Very dark, with earthy and fruity aromas. Dark red color with hints of blackberry and gooseberry, with a little bit of spicy pepper. A weak finish really puts a damper on this. Enjoy with grilled meats and poultry.

Not as good as the 2002 vintage. I give it an 88-89 out of 100. It is still a good wine with plenty of Zinfandel flavor.

Excellent color, body and bouquet does not necessarily mean excellent taste. The flavor is a bit less than expected, with an aftertaste that I really found to be less than satisfying.

Medium to dark red color. Very nice smokey nose with some vanilla. The taste is very good, berry-like with a strong oak flavor. The Zinfandel flavor is definitely there. I give it a 92 out of 100. If you like a real Zinfandel this is the one for you.

This deep, dark purple-red colored, light to medium bodied wine has flavors and aromas of over-extracted berry fruits (cherries, wild raspberries, and ripe blackberries), with crushed black peppers, cloves, and chocolate, and with a definite, if slightly heavy-handed, backdrop of toasted oak and smoke. With mild, integrated tannins, this interesting if slightly over-produced wine is tasty, food friendly, and seems a tad more alcoholic than it actually is. Drink now through 2006 or 2007.

It has herbal tea, raspberry, thyme, and oak aromas. I think this is a very well-balanced Zin. I was pleasantly surprised while drinking the first glass and even impressed on the finish. I give it an 86 out of 100.
