A fine full bodied wine. Sweet but not overly so. Rich fruity flavor. A nice red alternative to those who like moscato wines.

I recommended this wine to be used at a bar mitzvah over this past weekend. Everyone agreed this was perfect for the kiddush. I was happy they took my advice to serve it slightly chilled. The flavor made me think about eating nice ripe juicy chilled black plums on a hot day. I enjoyed it so much I made sure I placed an order for myself this time to have on hand in my home.

My comments on the 2007 vintage are the same as the 2005, except that the 2007 does have a bit more flavor.

Not a bad flavor, but I did find it a bit syrupy. Not bad, but not one of my favorites.

I am not all that fond of sweet wines, but this one is nice and not syruppy. It is clean with some interesting fruitiness and would pair well with fruit desserts.

I was reluctant in making this purchase but was glad I did so. I thought it interesting that one reviewer suggested that its dry. Its a sweet wine that was simply fun to drink. "Its fruity and fresh," suggested Nastia.

I really had a hard time with this wine and ended up sending it back. Ruby color is deceiving with pineapple and citrus flavors on the palate, with some confused red fruit. What is going on here? Tried at the winery.

This is the wine that originally led me to KosherWine.com. I couldn't find this wine in my state (I learned a lot about distributors' discretion during this process) and was forced to look out of state for it until I heard about this website. As you can see, they have everything, but I persevered so tenaciously because I loved this wine once I tasted it. Yes, it is a bit thick, but nowhere near syrupy. It's full bodied & robust, and provides a firm & welcome counterpoint to any food - no matter how strong the flavor. Heavy meats bring out its subtle nuances. Light meats & fowl have their own subtleties brought out when contrasted with this wine. It's perfect to enjoy with friends without the meal, or even as an aperitif in front of the fireplace. I left out the vintage because I've been drinking this wine for years now, and it's always been consistent. Buy now before they run out of stock again.

This wine is sticky sweet, and not very complex. A decent kiddush wine, but hard to match with food.

If want to try a Moscato that has some body, mouth feel, distinct flavors, then buy Herzog's Black Muscat. This wine is not overly sweet that you can't drink it as a table wine. It's 12% alcohol-- a bit more than the typical Moscato!!!

This is a great wine for those who love sweet wines. It has a very smooth texture and fruity notes. Delicious! Probably will not age well, so drink up now!

I agree with the other reviewers, but I wanted to mention a special feature of this wine. I get headaches from small quantities of most red wines- especially the heavy tannin entries - but for unknown reasons this one is "headache-free" for me. Don't know why - but I do know that I always have some of it in my closet! Tastes best almost ice-cold.

Like a simple pleasant melody that stays with you, you'll reach for this simple little wine over and over again. Satisifies those of us with a sweet tooth without being heavy and sticky, and with just the right balance of light fruitiness this Baron Herzog Black Muscat sings like a chickadee in springtime. Buy at least two bottles and drink now.

This is a simple, sweet wine with a strong nose of appricots, plums, and a hint of almonds. It's best served slightly chiled and it pairs well with fruits and pastries, especially with pains au chocolat. It does not age well, but it will stay fresh for a few weeks after openning. Note that this wine varies from one vintage to the next with the '02 vitange quite impoved. Overall, this is a good wine to have around.

This wine (in my humble opinion) is meant to drink young and not age. It is quite sweet, and a nice upgrade to those of you who are used to drink “Kiddush” type wines like Kedem Malaga or Concord.
Not a very complicated wine, and unlike most red wines should be served slightly chilled, not at room temperature.
Not my favorite, but worth a try.

As with most of the dessert and Kiddush wines made from the Black Muscat grape this one is VERY sweet. This uncomplicated wine shows flavors and aromas of honeyed cherry, strawberry and red plum as well as a hint of vanilla. A nice alternative to Concorde grape Kiddush wines, this wine is good served at room temperature or even slightly chilled. The Gan Eden Black Muscat is the better version of this wine, but this Baron Herzog effort is not without its charms and is well worth a try. It can be served with a variety of desserts.
