General Information
This intensely inky-colored Cabernet Sauvignon wine is grown in the well-drained, stoney and iron-rich soils of the Weir Family Vineyard along the Silverado Trail, one mile south of the famed Stags’ Leap appellation and ten yards from the Oak Knoll District, the Valley’s newest sub-appellation. The rich, spicy nose of bakers’ chocolate and black cherry compliments the brooding and spice-filled black licorice, black cherry, plum and cranberry on the palate. The addition of 10% Cabernet Franc enhances the complexity of the wine, as well as adding to our trademark robust and silky mid-palate. Aged for 19 months in small French and American oak cooperage, our Cabernet Sauvignon will flourish with bottle age.

Hagafen always make a great cab, but this is truly profound. Deep, rich, contentrated with gobs of rich, sweet, ripe fruit that hide the large amount of tannins. The finish goes on and on. It drinks beautifully now, but should age for many years.

Seven years of bottle aging produced a fine wine with vanilla and toasty oak on the nose, with well integrated flavors, silky tannins and wild blackberry notes. Very nice.

This is again amazing from hagafen. Although I liked the 2001 vintage more, the 2002 vintage does not disappoint. It is what a cab is meant to be.

A phenomenal wine! WOW!!! This was so good, I wish they would put more in each bottle. The perfect Napa Cab. Rich, elegant heavy wine. I think now is the perfect time to drink it (Summer '08). I was shocked that this wine is Mevushal.

This wine shows generous wood balanced comfortably by soft tannins and fruits. On the nose and palate currant and black cherry fruits opening to reveal spicy, lead-pencil, cedar, tobacco and licorice.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Syrah, aged for twenty months in small oak barrels. The result is a classic, structured, and elegant Napa Valley Cabernet with distinct notes of chocolate, red currant, cherry-berry fruit, balanced by earthy and herbal flavors, with a very delicate overlay of vanilla and oak. The silky tannins make this a rich, dense, and chewy wine. It is drinking very well now, but can age for a few years longer. This wine will drink very well with steaks, briskets, and virtually all hearty meat dishes.
