This is definitely my favorite wine of all time. It's a very special bottle, at a price point that's extremely low. They raised the price $4/btl for 2009, but it's still worth it. Wonderful layers of flavor - berry, vanilla, chocolate - with a nice soothing finish. It doesn't even need a meal to be thoroughly enjoyable.

I absolutely loved this wine. Nice spice on the nose, folded in with a woodsy, pine-like aroma. Flavors of dark fruit, eucalyptus, and a tinge of citrus very much evoked an experience of time spent in the Galil. And a great value.

The Galil Yiron is one amazing bottle of wine. I have tasted every vintage since 2000, and they are all so good. It’s unbelievable how consistently good this wine is. I am a fan of big, chewy, tasty reds and the Yiron does this perfectly. It is full bodied and smooth, with flavors of cedar, cherry, and a touch of oak. So delicious.

This is a very fine wine. The alcohol is felt in the nose on this 15% alcohol, but is also filled with a boldness and spice that preempts a bigger wine. The wine is smooth and complex with balanced acidity, bountiful dark fruit flavors and pepper. It finishes clean and fairly long. Highly recommend.

This is the best buy I have found to date; it is an excellent wine, and if tried in a blind tasting can go head-to-head with the $60 french Bordeaux wines. Full bodied, long finish, nice aromas of fruits, vanilla and oak with similar flavors on the palate. May need a few hours to decant before drinking, it tasted better the morning after it was opened; the type of wine glass also made a tremendous difference in the wine. I preferred using the vivant riedel burgundy 28 oz. glass over the 25 oz. Bordeaux glass, both can be purchased at Target at an affordable price. Should age gracefully for at least a few years. A powerful, yet classy wine (maybe too powerful for those who prefer lighter, sweeter wines). Should only be shared with those who can appreciate fine wine.

WOW. This wine continues to deliver the goods from vintage to vintage. A bordeaux blend that has bordeaux character at an EXCEPTIONAL PRICE. Dark purple color, with dark purple rim. Sweet ripe fruit bouquet with a subtle hint of chocolate and raspberry. Dense, concentrated, sweet ripe fruit with good acidity, lots of tannins, great structure, and a long finish. This wine is drinkable now, but appears to be very ageworth (considering the acidity, tannins, and structure). Impressive!!! Rediculous QPR.

Dark red to purple color. There are blackberries, cooked cherries, grape flavored fruit-roll-up, cassis, and a lot of vanilla on the nose. interestingly, on first impression, I was getting apricots. there's some black pepper, ripe dark fruits, A LOT of oak (a little too much, even for me, an oak lover), and good strong tannins on the palate. the fruit comes in on the front and you get the tannins and oak on the back-end. This has a medium to long finish, with a resonating oak dryness left in your mouth. I drank a whole bottle of this on purim (3/9/09) and loved it. The bottle was opened three hours before drinking. Although I'd like to see it aged for 12 rather than 16 months, it was silky smooth, well balanced and well integrated. Definitely a new favorite.

From its odd shaped bottle to its clean and sexy label you know this wine is advertising "Different" - Well, it delivers, big time. Its is not a secret that "Yiron" is one of the best quality wines coming out of Israeli today and that says a lot cinsidering it is now competing with the new Appalachian of the judean Hills (yatir, castel, hervron..) It is rich, chewy smooth and delightful. Like many Israeli wines, it does not need to be cellared and is good to drink young. Its heavy purple color is silky and delightful, It aroma is sinful and overwhelms you at first sniff. A mouthful bring back memories of a great french burgundy. quality through and through. The bottle is impressive and more importantly, so is the wine.

This is a superb medium to full-bodied red wine with wonderful berry and subtle fruit overtones. It is a very smooth wine that offers an excellent bouquet and taste poured right out of the bottle. It warms the palette immediately and it is a perfect accompaniment with beef, duck, or lamb. Giron Yiron 2003 is an excellent value at the price and compares favorably to wines costing far more. I highly recommend this wine.

Both my husband and I think this is an exceptionally fine wine, and well worth its price. It has plenty of body and richness to it, dry but not acidic, a pleasant combinination of the features of a good cabernet and merlot. It stands up nicely to a kosher pot roast and is an excellent choice with a richly flavored chicken dish such as cacciatore or chicken marengo.

The wine has a very dark color and a very fresh nose. The smell is fruity with a hint of tobacco, and a very slight vanilla flavor. It has an interesting taste, very smooth without any tannin I could detect. It is a relatively strong wine with some oak and even a very slight sweetness like black cherries. The nose becomes much stronger with tobacco as it breathes. It also has a slight stoney taste, perhaps from being grown in rocky soil. It might get better with age, perhaps 1 or 2 more years. A delicious wine, I give it an 87 out of 100.

This deep red medium to full bodied wine is an enticing blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. This supple wine has generous but not overpowering tannins that are nicely integrated into the aromas and flavors of plum, black cherry, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and all with a general background of vanilla and oak. There is also a sublte but distinctive earthy/grassy aspect to the wine... Very nice indeed. This moderately complex wine has a long finish and, given the price, is terrific bang for your buck.
