General Information
Yarden Mount Hermon was produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, all grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil and high altitude are ideal conditions for growing classic wine grape varieties. Moderately early pressing yields a wine with good color and ample fruit that can be enjoyed without extensive aging. To preserve the quality of the wine, this bottle should be stored on its side in a cool, dark place. Best served at 55-60 degrees.

Complex and full bodied for a wine of its price. Excellent value.

Brilliant deep cherry hued, medium-bodied with a full fruity aroma, Yarden Mount Hermon is invigorating, opening with hints of plum, dark currant and slight recollections of freshly mown grass, evolving to show a bit of sour cherry. Very nice.

This is a bargain, a solidly structured wine, good "mouth feel" and body, smooth tannins, flavorful enough to stand up to a rich stew. In April 2009 it was still tight but easily drinkable, and opens nicely in a generous glass; it could be decanted but will also benefit from a year or two.

Ok wine, but I agree with the others, it needs to be decanted or left out in the glass for a while.

this is one of my favorite wines when I don't want to spend much. Very good for the buck. It is better then any other wine in this price range. Keep a few at home all the time, just in case you run out of some expensive stuff.

this wine must be DECANTED and not just uncorked for at least two hours prior to drinking (this goes for most wines but I want to mention the point here). this vintage is better than the 2004 but not quite as good as the 2003. It is more new age fruity than old world vegatal. nice fruit on the nose and palate. plum, some cherry and strawberry. I had this wine at room temperature on 3/7/08.

I had this from a half bottle on 3/7/08. I left the bottle uncorked (but not decanted) for two hours. upon initial nosing and tasting, it had a vegatal nose of cauliflower/ broccoli with some ripe fruits of dark plum. on the palate, the texture was pretty watery, lacking a dryness and bite I liked from the 2003. as the meal went on, and the wine was sitting in my glass, it eventually opened up and the dryness/bite appeared. it is a MUST to decant this bottle for at least 2 hours to truly appreciate this wine on the palate and nose. this vintage was not as good as I remember the 2003 to be and almost as good as the 2005. I had it at room temperature to capture the full scents and taste.

A nice and well-balanced, if young, wine. Very enjoyable, drinkable, and pleasant. Even though this is not the most complex wine, it is quite a good value.

I love this wine- one of my favorites. intensely dry, with a nice bite, yet sweet as it goes down the hatch. beautiful nose, alluding to its heritage of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, marrying very nicely together. perfect with that friday night brisket or nice, drawn-out purim seuda.

This is a simple red wine, a Bordeaux-type blend. It is pleasing, but a bit too soft, wihtout much of a character. Very easy to match with food, and relatively inexpensive. Don't be fooled by the "Yarden" label, there are much more interesting offerings from the Gamla and Golan lines of the Golan Heights Winery.

Well balanced, pleasant aroma. Mild with a light fruity flavor. An all around solid wine at a great price. A great choice that will suit most wine drinkers (connaisseur or not). This is one of our staple wines.

The Yarden Mount Hermon Red (for that matter the White too) happen to be my all time favorites. The craftsmanship that went in to make both the red and white Mount Hermon medley wines is outstanding. The fruit flavors from this wine linger on your palate for days if you let it! Too bad the bottle is empty before you know it. Drink young or age for a few years.

First of all, don't pay attention to the price, I don't think it reflects the quality of this wine. It's soft and dry with no tannins and no oak. You must drink it now, cause it will not age well.

This simple but pleasing medium-bodied Bordeaux-style blend is soft, dry and fruity with berry, red cherry, plum, vanilla, spice, and herbal notes. The wine is vibrant, fresh, food friendly, easy to drink and, most importantly, is drinking very well now.

Yarden Galilee Mount Herman 2002 from the Golan Heights of Israel. This wine is 48% Cabernet 42% Merlot 10% Cabernet Franc and 14% alcohol. (The label says that it is grown in rocky volcanic soil and high altitude-moderately early pressing yields a wine with good color and ample fruit.) It is a dark red color with a big fruity nose with plenty of blackberry jam and vanilla. It has a soft, well rounded and pleasing taste, with almost a jelly-like flavor. It is big and bold, still young and could stand aging. Relatively tannic and dry, yet still very good and grapey. I give it an 87 out of 100. It has a plastic cork if it matters to you. I have always felt that there is less of a chance of it going bad due to leakage rather than any taste that might come from the cork.
