General Information
Israel's ancient soil and lengthy growing season provide the perfect environment to nurture fine Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. These grapes were hand picked, soft pressed, vinified and aged 8 months in French oak barrels. The result is a full-bodied wine with a delicate smoky aroma and hints of spices enhanced by plum and blackberry flavors. Enjoy with grilled meat, game and hearty casseroles.

Wine Enthusiast  2000 vintage
"Serious Israeli wine...(Winemaker Lewis Pasco) shoots for - and hits - the international style...some of the best, most internationally styled wines from the country...the 2000 Merlots and Cabernets are bright in color and bold in flavor. Both are good wines that will appeal to a wide audience." April 2003

South Florida Sun-Sentinel
"Recanati makes not only some of the best wines I've tasted, but also some of the best values. And they do it all in Israel. ...the cabernet, with full-fruit flavor and soft tannins, is as good as other cabs offered at twice the price." (February 5, 2004 )

Washington Post
"A fine Cab at a fair price, this features nice dark berry fruit and subtle notes of oak and spices." Rating: Very Good (March 24, 2004)

This is the best Cabarnet I have tasted at this value. A new favorite, without a doubt. Very full-bodied. Recanti knows what they are doing.

A very good wine, especially at this price. While not as muscular as some of the Recanati reserve wines, this red puts forward, fruit, earth, and just the right measure of oak. A medium-bodied red.

Just as good as the 2002. Very consistent. From cork to nose to palate, it is evident that, with a forward looking shelf live, even at this nascent stage it is a fine, albeit underpriced, wine. Good tannins, long finish, it begs another sip and does not fail to please. Great deal.

Hard to find a better value than this wine! Bought on sale, it is half the price of other wines that are not its equal. Good, solid cab!

Still a great value, though I'd think this wine would benefit from another year or so in the bottle. My impression was that the wine softened-up after being decanted for about 1/2 an hour, making for a much smoother feel.

This is a nice bottle of wine. Beautiful garnet color, good nose, albeit with some strong tannins on the mid-palate. Certainly a good relative value bottle.

Relatively smooth, yet still has some tannin. The wine is still a bit young and will open up with age. The nose is a bit straw-like with a hint of oak and vanilla. It tastes a little bit like plums or cherries. It is better to let this wine breathe before drinking it. i give it an 89-90 out of 100.

An excellent wine, and great value for the price. Excellent body, structure, and a very full mouth-feel. The fruit shine, without overpowering. This wine will complement beef or pasta dishes. Slightly light on the tannins, I'd drink this now, or within the next 2 years.

Garnet color. Excellent nose of smoky oak and butterscotch, with ripe cherry overtones. The taste is similar to the Tzora Vineyards Cabernet, except this is smokier. Very dry and full-bodied, slightly chewy. The plum and blackberry flavors come out after the wine has breathed for 1/2 an hour or so. Great legs. I give it a 93 out of 100.

This medium to full bodied, deep garnet colored wine is very enticing if not altogether complex, with aromas and flavors of currants, blackberries, and plums with hints of herbs and spices. Though generally harmonious, the tannins are a bit too soft, making for enjoyable but early drinking. Drink now.
