This medium-bodied, high QPR (quality-to-price ratio) wine offers aromas of cherry, cedar, and pepper spice - a play on the nose, followed by more spice and prominent cherry and ripe strawberry fruit on the dry, elegant palate. The finish is juicy and refreshing.

The bottle came fizzy and vinegary.

For those of you who want and need a change of pace from what is usually available in Kosher Wine and insist on QPR, I highly recommend this Rhone wine. The best vintage I had was either the 2009, the best have been solid, but the 2009 was outstanding. Maybe its often that way with a taste of something different......

2010 vintage was outstanding, full bodied and well balanced. Complex yet drinkable, with fine tannins and powerful berry notes along with just the right amount of spiciness. Price has gone up for the 2011 vintage.

With a beautiful, clear, deep raspberry color, berry/currant aroma, and fairly full body, Le Mourre de L'Isle is lightly spicy, and wonderfully inviting. Soft, round and fruity... an excellent little wine and quite desirable.
