When only an authentic Port from the sun-drenched hillside vineyards of Portugal will do, the discussion begins and ends with Porto Cordevoro. The nose is replete with sweet raspberry and dark chocolate aromas, and the palate oozes with notes of sweet and spicy berry preserves. Obviously exquisite with freshly-shelled nuts or a fine cigar after dinner, Porto Cordevoro also pairs wonderfully with in-season sorbet.

I never had a port before this one, and I thought it was good - sweet, with hints of chocolate. I liked that it was smooth and didn't linger too long in the mouth.

Dark garnet in color, looking not unlike a deep dark Manischewitz, with overripe, almost stewed though pleasant aromas, fading tannins and some balancing acidity, with notes of prunes, dark fruit compote and lovely vanilla followed by a generous cinnamon- and nutmeg-accented finish. Showing its age, but still pleasant.

Not overly complex, but a pleasant sweet quaff that goes down smoothly.

This is the first Kosher Port, from the properties of a famous Port house, Taylor Fladgate. This is a Ruby Port, though, that is, the least complex kind of Port (lots of fruit, relatively simple, but well-made). I would recommend it, but anyone who is expecting a Tawny or a Vintage Port will be disappoined.

nice sweet wine, not much more than that - hardly deserving of the title "Port". nothing like the ports I have tasted in my pre-kosher days years ago. if it were half the price, it might be worth it... perhaps...
