The Chosen Barrel Reserve Syrah 2014

Description

The Chosen Barrel Reserve Syrah is a still clear red wine. This wine has a dark ruby color with hints of lighter purple at the rim. It's a clean wine, not hazy. The wine also has a clean nose with a light to medium intensity. The fruit character in the aroma includes stewed blackberries and black cherries. There is definitely an overlay of oak flavor, cedar and vanilla. There is a meaty smell, not roasted meat but almost like a stewed meat, and lots of pepper. The wine is medium plus in body with flavors of clove, cinnamon, pepper in the mouth. The acid is light to medium with a finish that is pungent and medium, and a touch alcoholy and the tannins are medium plus. This is an Israeli syrah for sure.
