51% Touriga Nacional, 49% Tinta Cao. Yarden 2T is made from these two Portuguese varieties, grown in the Yonatan Springs and Geshur Vineyards. 18 months of barrel aging adds richness to the wine's wild berry, cassis, plum, and violet notes. The Golan Heights Winery was started in 1983 by 4 kibbutzim and 4 moshavim in the Golan. They have led the drive in Israel to produce great wines. The 28 vineyards are in various parts of the Golan up to 1200 meters, and Victor Schoenfeld is the chief winemaker. They have won numerous Gold medals around the world.

I bought this because I had never tasted either of the varietals used to make this blend, and i have enjoyed other Portuguese wines. This was an interesting offering from one of my favorite vineyards, but not my favorite of all of their wines. For the price, i think would stick with a a wine from Portugal or buy one of Yarden's other fine wines. To be fair, I was so interested in tasting it that i drank it soon after buying it. I am planning on buying another couple of bottles and letting them sit for a while before trying it again. If you like Yarden wines (and, really, who doesn't?) this is definitely worth a try as it is different. I just wouldn't suggest buying a case or 2 until you see if you really like it.
