Château Leoville Poyferre, Saint Julien, Grand Cru 2003

Nestled in the Saint Julien sub-region of Bordeaux, France, Chateau Leoville Poyferre is one of France’s most prestigious and well-known wine estates. The Grand Cru 2003 is a unique wine that has developed beautifully over the years and can be enjoyed now or cellared for another 3 to 5 years.

Vintage: 2003

ABV: 13.5%

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot

Nose: Blackberries, currant, cedar, rose, earthy, coffee and leather.

Taste: Currant, dark berries, black cherry, spice, oak, vanilla and smoke.

Château Pontet-Canet, Pauillac, Grand Cru 2003

Since 1989, Chateau Pontet-Canet located in Pauillac, Bordeaux’s Medoc peninsula, has produced some of the finest and most sought after wines worldwide. To this day, it still holds its reputation as being one of the leading and more historical French wineries. The 2003 vintage can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few more years.

ABV: 13%

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

Nose: Excellent balance between fruit (blackberry, raspberry) and wood (licorice & toasty notes).

Taste: Fine length, imposing structure, extremely smooth tannins, and an effortless long finish.

Château Valandraud, Saint Emilion, Grand Cru 2001

Located in various areas of the Saint Emilion region, the Chateau Valandraud Domaine represents a total of 24 acres. The diversity of soils and varietals allows for the production of 6 different wines, including the Chateau Valandraud Cacher. It is a refined and beautifully balanced wine that has cellared phenomenally and is ready to drink now or hold for another 2 to 3 years. 

Vintage: 2001

ABV: 13%

Varietals: Merlot, Cabernet Franc

Nose: Leather, oak, cherry jam, raspberries, dark chocolate.

Taste: Aromas of black fruit, earthy, full-bodied with a long and velvety finish.

Covenant Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Since 2003, Covenant winery has established itself as the premier kosher winery in California. Arguably producing some of the finest kosher wines in the world, Covenant uses grapes sourced from some of the best vineyards in the country, all the way from Napa Valley to Sonoma and beyond.

In the words of Jeff Morgan, Covenant Winemaker, “the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses beautiful purity along with abundant amounts of black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, tobacco leaf, and spice box notes. The 2005 vintage should drink well for 12-15 years.” There’s no better time to drink this beautiful wine than now.

Falesco Marciliano Umbria 2006

There are only a select few prestigious Italian wineries who have been able to produce world-class kosher runs, and Falesco (now Cotarella) is one of them. Falesco has established its reputation by exploring not only the uniqueness and tradition of native varieties but also the versatility of international grape varieties in new terroirs. The Falesco Marciliano Umbria 2006 is truly one of the world’s best kosher wines, one that you should definitely add to your cellar or drink to celebrate a special simcha.

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon

Taste: Well balanced structure, fine tannins, and an elegant, silky mouthfeel.

Nose: Cassis, herbs, tobacco, cedar.

Yatir Forest, Yatir Winery 2003

Yatir Forest, the flagship wine of Yatir winery, is made from vineyard produce which yielded the tops wines of a given year’s vintage, with emphasis on scent and palate, and long term aging capability. Yatir Forest has become one of Israel’s leading products of consistent quality. The 2003 vintage is a magnificent wine, one that should be enjoyed now.
