The Kesser label was developed by winemaker Joseph Zakon who set up his own winery on Long Island in 1981 fresh out of school. Today the brand is known for its delicious kosher wines which come in a huge variety of styles from dry reds to sweet and semi-sweet bottlings.

How did Kesser start?
Growing up as an Orthodox Jew, Joseph Zakon was fed up of the oversweet kosher wines he’d been brought up with and set out to do something about it. Shortly after leaving school in 1981 he became the youngest person in the U.S. to found a bonded winery and now sells his wines all over the United States and to Canada and Europe.
