Terra di Seta Wines
Chianti is the primary winemaking region of Tuscany, and its wines are strictly regulated. Tuscany’s most important grape is Sangiovese and it is regulated by the DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), Italy’s certified guarantee of proper Tuscan wine making from Sangiovese’s native historical region. Chianti Classico must be 80% Sangiovese and aged a minimum of a year in the barrel and bottle.
The Chianti Classico Riserva must also be a minimum 80% Sangiovese, and has two qualifying additional features: The wine must be from more premium grapes, and it must be aged for up to 24 months in the barrel and bottle before it can hit the shelves.
The Assai is made from the vineyard’s most premium grapes, and is 100% Sangiovese aged in new French oak barrels for 24 months. Terra di Seta’s flagship wine.
Rosé of 100% Sangiovese grapes. The must is separated from the skins promptly after just several hours of crushing, then undergoing slow fermentation, finally resting in stainless steel tanks for several hours.
