Dalton Asufa Grounded Zuriman 2024

Grounded Red is made of Zuriman grapes, spontaneously fermented, and aged in clay amphora. Zuriman is an ancient variety found in Northern Israel and thought to have been brought here from the Caucuses by the Circassian community. It was rediscovered several years ago and was untouched until our desire to connect to Israel’s ancient wine culture led us to plant our own vineyard of this mysterious new vine and begin our journey through time.The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand, very late in the season, primary fermentation took place in concrete tanks and then the wine was moved to clay amphorae where it aged for about eight months. Zuriman is dark purple in colour, with light to medium body.It is spicy and herbaceous, with aromas of red cherry, tobacco and damp earth.
