A dry white wine with citrus fruit flavors, and a vein of acidity. Grüner Veltliner (pronounced "grooner velt-leener") is a white wine grape variety native to Austria and is often described as an exotic alternative to Sauvignon Blanc. This particular wine was made from grapes grown on a small family farm and vineyard in the heart of Berks County, PA. Lemon and lime dominate the fruit profile with complimentary green herb flavors. A touch of Hungarian Oak introduces the subtle flavor of Brazil Nut while amplifying the white pepper aroma characteristic of this varietal. Made in the traditional Austrian style with racy acidity, this wine pairs well with fried foods like schnitzel or fish and chips. It is an excellent palate cleanser for richly flavored dishes, and is one of the few still wines that can pair well with artichoke or grilled asparagus.
