The Chosen Barrel Reserve Malbec 2014

Description

The Chosen Barrel Reserve Malbec is a clear wine with a medium intensity and very bright purple color that gets even lighter at the rim. The nose has a medium intensity as well. There is a strong oak characteristic right up front, very big oaky notes. You also get blue fruit aromas, like crushed blueberries stewed in oak chips. As well as a touch of green on the back of the nose, it's very subtle but it's there. There is also some hints of vanilla and caramel from the oak. The wine is dry with high acid and high tannins. This is a full bodied wine, with big blue to black fruit components and spice and oak filling the mouth. The finish is long and coating the gums. If you like highly acidic and tannic wines with an oaky character, then this wine is a winner.
