1848 2nd Generation Cabernet/Merlot 2014 is made at the 1848 Winery founded in 2006 to honor the beginning of modern winemaking in Israel by its parent Zion Winery in 1848. Tzvika Shor is the winemaker dedicated to producing higher end wines using grapes from the Galil and the Jerusalem Hills. The Cabernet/Merlot blend was made from the two most famous Noble grapes of France and was aged in barrels for 10 months. The wine has a crimson color with bright purple hues. It has a pleasant bouquet of fresh red fruit, green pepper, blackberries and vanilla and tobacco in the background. The wine has freshness and balance, medium body and a long, complex finish. This wine is best pair with pasta Bolognese, sausages, cold or blue cheese.
