Hajdu produces small lot wines with a focus on Rhone varietals, creating unique, delicious wines that enhance the meals and occasions in our lives. Hajdu vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties, which are closely situated to the Berkeley winery. A minimalist philosophy endows the wine with the purest and most ideal flavors, allowing the fruit to express itself in your glass.
Sourced from a single vineyard in Dry Creek, Sonoma County. Look for citrus, stone fruit and green apple notes on the nose. The wine is crisp and refreshing with flavors of lemon curd and peaches on the palate. Drink now until 2025. Less than 150 cases produced.
Rich fruit, with red fruits, spice and cedar. Medium-bodied, with nice tannins and lingering acid.
Besomim is our semi-annual ragtag bunch of misfits. The current manifestation is a blend of Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, aged for 18 months in neutral oak. Garnet colored, with aromas of plum and spice. The wine is medium to full-bodied, the tannins are soft and rich. Look for flavors of plum and caramel. Drink now through 2027
Introduced by Spanish missionaries in the 16th century (thus earning its name), the Mission group is now mostly grown in Santa Barbara, California. It is still not a widely-known variety but Hajdu has produced a limited amount for your tasting pleasure.
Serraglio is a blend of Sangiovese, Barbera and Montepulciano, look for notes of rosemary cranberry and hazelnuts on the nose, the wine is rich and juicy with flavors of coffee, candied fruit and cranberry sauce. 5-10 years. Limited Release 25 cases produced!
Ruby red with notes of plum, and cherry on the nose. The wine is well structured with high acidty, it will benefit from some time in the bottle. Look for flavors of sour cherry and tabbaco on the palate.
Dark and inky with flavors blue fruit and savory herbs, backed bright acidity and plenty of tannic structure.
Hajdu Syrah is a dark and rich wine, with hints of blackberries, cured meats and spices.

Jonathan Hajdu founded and is the winemaker of Hajdu Wines, which was originally known as Brobdingnagian. Hajdu studied viticulture at Melbourne, Australia’s Swinburne University. After hands-on training, Hajdu worked at Herzog Wine Cellars before his job at Covenant.
