The Hagafen winery is located in Napa Valley, the heart of California’s grape growing region. The  style of the winemakers is to focus on the vineyard, protecting natural soil conditions, growing high quality grapes that will produce the best wine. As many wineries do, Hagafen started small with just two varietals, cabernet sauvignon and riesling. The grapes for the riesling wines are sourced from different vineyards and contain different taste profiles. The winery expanded as the Weirs added more plots of land, creating a larger profile, and finally opening up a tasting room in 2002.

Besides for sparkling wine they currently have four red wines and four white wines available. Their whites, especially their rieslings, are spectacular -- crisp, light, and refreshing. The red wines are fairly big California style wines with bold fruit characteristics. Overall, Hagafen is an experienced California winery that happens to be kosher, which makes us kosher wine drinkers very fortunate indeed.
